FCSB Prepared to Invest €1.5 Million for New Striker

Mihai Stoica, the president of the Board of Directors at FCSB, announced on Monday evening that the club is prepared to allocate €1.5 million for the transfer of a striker. However, this move hinges on the status of Denis Drăguș.

The team, coached by Marius Baciu, is looking to strengthen its offensive lineup during this transfer period, yet internal discussions have presented two options for the management.

While club owner Gigi Becali has expressed interest in acquiring Trabzonspor’s Denis Drăguș, Stoica is advocating for a different foreign player.

Mihai Stoica: “We Are Ready to Pay €1.5 Million for a Striker”

Stoica confirmed that he has identified a striker for whom the club is willing to invest €1.5 million. This expenditure will only proceed if Drăguș’s transfer does not materialize.

Currently, FCSB’s attacking options include Daniel Bîrligea and David Miculescu. Stoica believes justifying a significant financial investment on another player would be challenging if Drăguș also joins the team.

“Transfers will be made; I hope everything goes smoothly. What can I say? I have a striker, and Gigi said we can spend over €1 million. I have confidence he can make a difference for us, but at the same time, Gigi is eager to bring in Drăguș.

If I know Gigi wants Drăguș, and with Bîrligea in the mix, is it reasonable to spend €1.5 million on a player with a high salary? It’s easy to say we’re not doing our job, but it may not be that simple,” Stoica stated during the “Fotbal Show” on Prima Sport.

The transfer window closes in September, and Stoica mentioned they are also looking to add a lateral attacker and midfielders, indicating that the team might start losing if they don’t act promptly.
