FCSB May Part Ways with Dennis Politic Due to High Salary

Gigi Becali appears determined to part ways with Dennis Politic, as FCSB seeks to distance itself from the player this summer. Reports indicate that the club owner has lost faith in the 26-year-old winger, primarily due to his hefty salary.

Politic returned to FCSB after a loan spell at Hermannstadt, where he failed to make a significant impact. Upon rejoining the squad, his future with the team looks uncertain.

High Salary a Burden for FCSB

Becali is aware that recovering a substantial portion of the €1 million investment made for Politic will be challenging. The winger’s contract reportedly includes a monthly salary of €20,000, a significant financial commitment for a player who has struggled to perform.

Becali is unwilling to continue paying such a salary for a player whose reliability is in question, especially considering Politic’s history of injuries and underwhelming performance with only three goals in 24 appearances for FCSB.

During a loan to Hermannstadt last winter, Politic did not score in eight matches, and he was unavailable toward the end of the ’25-’26 season due to medical issues, which also coincided with Hermannstadt’s relegation.

Opposition to the Transfer

A year ago, FCSB’s Chairman Mihai Stoica advised against signing Politic, citing his medical history. However, Becali did not heed this advice, claiming to have insight into Politic’s potential.

Unfortunately for Becali, Politic’s ongoing health issues have proven the owner’s confidence misplaced. Currently valued at €650,000 on Transfermarkt, Politic’s market worth has declined significantly from his peak of €1.5 million during his time at Dinamo.

Return to Dinamo Unlikely

In the past, Politic had attracted interest from Greek side Panetolikos, but a return to Dinamo seems off the table. Dinamo’s President Andrei Nicolescu has stated that discussions regarding a transfer for Politic are not on the agenda.

During his time at Dinamo, Politic scored 14 goals and provided 4 assists in 63 official matches after joining the team from Cremonese in 2023.
