Serious accidents in Buzau: 11 people lost their lives in the first half of the year

Eleven people lost their lives, and another 13 were seriously grown in road accidents in Buzau County, in the first half of 2025.

In the first six months of this year, Buzău County recorded 11 deaths and 13 people seriously injured in road accidents. While the number of serious events on DN 2 E85 has decreased, police reports a significant increase in accidents involving electric scooters.
According to the County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) Buzău, the most common causes of accidents were not granting priority and unadapted speed to road conditions.
“In the first half of 2025, at the level of Buzău county there were 19 serious accidents (5 less than the previous year), resulting in the death of 11 persons (3 less than the previous year) and the serious injury of 13 (two more than the previous year). soldiers with the death of 3 persons), the deviations committed by pedestrians (4 serious accidents, soldiers with the death of 4 persons), the speed not adapted to the road conditions (two serious accidents, resulting in the serious injury of two persons) ””IPJ Buzău told Agerpres.
Decrease on DN 2 E85, increasing scooter accidents
During the analyzed period, the police found a decrease in serious accidents on DN 2 E85, one of the roads with heavy traffic, part of it being taken over by the A7 highway.
“Regarding the DN2 E85 section that crosses Buzău county, compared to last year a decrease in serious road accidents and their consequences. In the first half of 2025 there were 6 serious accidents, soldiers with the death of 3 and the serious injury of 5 other persons, and in 2024 there were 7 rags. people and the serious injury of two others“, States IPJ.
At the same time, in the first six months there were 12 accidents involving electric scooters, resulting in the slight injury of 12 people. Comparatively, in the same period last year there were only 4 such accidents.

In the first half of the year, road police officers detained over 2,700 driving licenses, to exceed the legal speed limit, driving under the influence of alcohol and not granting pedestrian priority or other traffic vehicles.
