The Ministry of Energy must not allow legal proceedings around the Chervonograd central processing plant to disrupt preparations for the heating season – Bondar

The uncertainty surrounding the Chervonograd central processing plant continues to pose risks for the coal industry and preparations for the next heating season. This was stated on Facebook by MP from European Solidarity Mikhail Bondar on the eve of the Supreme Court's consideration of the cassation appeal in the bankruptcy case of PJSC Lviv Coal Company.

According to the deputy, the situation around the enterprise is once again developing according to the usual scenario: production remains stopped, and legal proceedings continue.

“During this time, the Chervonograd enrichment plant did not work, the debts did not decrease, and there was definitely no more time until the new heating season,” Bondar emphasized.

He recalled that in April the court of appeal declared the appointment of the arbitration manager Yurchenko illegal, but the issue of a new rehabilitation manager has not yet been resolved. According to Bondar, individual participants in the process are more focused on judicial maneuvers than on resuming the work of a strategic enterprise.

The deputy also noted that the majority of state creditors and institutions have already supported the candidacy of arbitration manager Evgeniy Sevastyanov. In addition, during the trial it was announced that there were no disciplinary sanctions or claims against him from the justice authorities.

“While the courts are being delayed and postponed, the factory is not working, the mines are wasting time, and the problems do not disappear,” the MP emphasized.

According to Bondar, the Chervonograd Central Processing Plant should receive full management and the opportunity to resume work as soon as possible. In this regard, he again appealed to the Ministry of Energy and personally to Minister Denis Shmygal.

Bondar emphasized that the relevant ministry must keep the situation under constant control, because the long-term downtime of the strategic enterprise already directly affects the energy security of the state on the eve of next winter.
