

“In May 2023, two contracts were concluded between one of the capital's universities and a contractor for the ongoing repair of shelters in dormitories. Deputy Chief Engineer [вуза]knowing for certain that the volume and cost of construction work, materials specified in the acceptance certificates for completed construction work, are overstated, and some of the work was not completed at all, signed these acts,” the message says.
Investigators found that, in particular, in the shelter of one of the dormitories, they did not putty and paint the walls, did not install a toilet and plumbing, and did not carry out other work.
“Despite this, money for this work was transferred to the contractor’s accounts, causing more than UAH 1.2 million in damage to the university,” the prosecutor’s office noted.
According to her information, the deputy chief engineer of the university was charged with suspicion under Part 5 of Art. 27 hours 4 tbsp. 191 (assistance in the seizure of someone else’s property by an official’s abuse of his official position, committed repeatedly, by prior conspiracy by a group of persons under martial law, on a large scale) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
As part of the criminal proceedings, they are going to evaluate the actions of other university officials and the managers of the contractor.
