It's over! Midfielder Eddy Gnahore (32 years old) will not continue at Dinamo next season. The Frenchman's contract expires in a few days, and Nuno Campos (51), the new coach of the “dogs”, has decided not to rely on his services.
His situation Gnahoré was different from that of other players at the end of their contract.
If Georgi Milanov, Valentin Țicu and Jordan Ikoko left the club after both sides decided not to extend the agreement, in the case of the Frenchman the final decision was made after the installation of the new coach.
Dinamo had not made a decision about Gnahore until the arrival of Nuno Campos. The Portuguese technician considered that the midfielder does not fit the desired profile and decided not to keep him in the squad, according to prosport.ro.
It is the second “heavy” departure from Dinamo this summer, after that of central defender Kennedy Boateng.
Eddy Gnahore leaves Dinamo
Eddy Gnahore has been one of the team's leaders over the past two and a half seasons. Arriving at Dinamo in the winter of 2024, the Frenchman contributed to the rescue from relegation in Zeljko Kopic's first season on the technical bench.
Later, he played an important role in qualifying the team for the play-offs after an eight-year hiatus, and in the recently ended season he remained one of the main men of the formation, being particularly appreciated by the former coach of the “dogs”.
Another aspect that weighed in his situation was his salary. Gnahore collected more than 20,000 euros per month, including bonuses, an amount considered too high by the club's management.
Dinamo was willing to continue the collaboration only if the player accepted a significant salary reduction, but this scenario became irrelevant after Nuno Campos' decision.
Last season, Gnahore played 43 matches for Dinamo, scoring two goals and providing two decisive assists. In total, he made 97 appearances in the red-white shirt, with six goals and five assists in all competitions.
Listed at €600,000 by Transfermarkt, the French midfielder has also played for Chateauroux, Birmingham, Carrarese, Napoli, Carpi, Crotone, Perugia, Palermo, Amiens, Wuhan FC and Ascoli throughout his career.
