The Central Statistical Office released new inflation data. May brought a drop in prices


At the end of May, the Central Statistical Office published quick calculations of the inflation rate. Economists expected an increase to 3.7 percent, but the data turned out to be much more optimistic.

“Prices of consumer goods and services in May 2026. increased by 3.1 percent compared to the same month last year (with an increase in prices of services by 5.7% and goods by 2.1%). Compared to the previous month, prices of goods and services decreased by 0.3%. (including goods by 0.4% and services by 0.2%), the Central Statistical Office reported.
