The first signs of cracks in the PNL: the liberals who broke ranks around Bolojan support Vestea

The gloomy warnings regarding the plan to split the PNL are beginning to come true, the first cracks being already visible shortly after the announcement by President Nicușor Dan regarding the nomination of Adrian Veștea as prime minister. Deputies Răzvan Prișca and Sebastian Rusu, together with the mayor of Brașov George Scripcaru, officially broke ranks and came out publicly in support of the designated prime minister.

The tensions within the PNL are increasing with every minute that passes since the appointment, by Nicuşor Dan, of the liberal Adrian Veştea for the position of prime minister, and the rift within the party, between those who continue to support the interim prime minister Ilie Bolojan and those who want to join the government with a new prime minister, seems to be deepening.

While some leaders are even talking about organizing an emergency meeting to exclude Adrian Veştea from the PNL, the first messages of support for him also appear. A supportive post is that of deputy Răzvan Prișca, who considers Veștea “the most suitable man for this moment”.

“I am a PNL deputy and I support Adrian Veștea.

Romania can no longer afford to prolong the political crisis for the sake of personal pride. Romania needs a government. Not tomorrow, not after another round of sterile negotiations, but now. The appointed Prime Minister Adrian Vestea is the most suitable man for this complicated moment.

30 years in PNL. Mayor of Râșnov for three terms. President of the Brașov County Council. Minister of Development. We are not talking about a man taken out of context — we are talking about a liberal trained in the field, who knows what it means to administer, attract European funds and deliver concretely for citizens.

I assume this position without hesitation: Adrian Veștea has the experience, the seriousness and the courage to form a government that will get Romania out of the crisis and keep it on the pro-Western direction.

Good luck, Adrian!” wrote liberal deputy Răzvan Priscă on Facebook on Sunday.

His behavior has already generated criticism from PNL supporters in a short time, who appreciate Adrian Veştea's gesture as a betrayal of liberal principles.

* “Shame! Out with you from PNL!”

* “Strength Ilie Bolojan!”

* “A PNL deputy should also respect the party's decisions”

* “I had a good impression of you. You came to visit me in the campaign, maybe you remember… It's pathetic what you're doing! Now we see your true face…! Go to pesedes or gold, to say the least…”

* “You are only a deputy, that PNL you will no longer be. Javier Milei's words: afuera!

* “Out with the PNL rats!”

* “The list of traitors will be on the BPN table, the summer cleaning is coming, the list you just signed up for!”, are just some of the comments left by the supporters of the Ilie Bolojan wing of the PNL.

Nicușor Dan: “Eugen Tomac submitted his mandate this morning and I appoint Adrian Veștea as prime minister”

Liberals who broke ranks

Shortly after Răzvan Prișcă “broke the ice”, other voices from among the liberals started to appear, declaring their support for the designated prime minister Adrian Veștea. Aripa Brașov stands out, the nucleus behind the designated prime minister, for the local leaders the ultimate argument is the past of Adrian Veștea, who had three consecutive mandates as mayor of Râșnov.

The message posted by the mayor of Brașov George Scripcaru:

“My colleague, Adrian Veștea, was appointed prime minister. For me, as mayor of Brașov, it is good news.

I believe that having the Prime Minister as an ally will help us continue the investment projects that our community wants and desperately needs.

As an administrator and as a citizen, I hope to put an end to this political crisis, which does not bring the country anything good”, also wrote the liberal mayor of Braşov, George Scripcaru.

“As a deputy elected by the people of Brașov and president of the PNL Brașov Municipality, I consider it my duty to support a #Brașovian who went through all the stages of local public administration and who demonstrated, through deeds, that he knows how to record performances: Adrian Ioan Veștea.

I am part of the liberal team of Brașov. In the campaign for the parliamentary elections, I was with the citizens and had the support of Adrian Ioan Veștea, the president of the Brașov County Council, a leader who worked for the development of Brașov for years.

Adrian Veștea has a complete career in public administration, from local councilor and mayor of Râșnov, to president of the Brașov County Council and Minister of Development.

“Dark and sinister.” CTP reveals “Nicușor Dan's dream”: To break PNL and stick it with spit to PSD

The people of Brasov have seen what he can do when he takes on a project. Brașov International Airport is the best example. It is a concrete achievement that benefits the entire region today.

I think that Brașov deserves to give Romania a prime minister who understands the administration from the ground up, who knows how to work with the authorities and state institutions, manage budgets and build majorities around important objectives for Romania.

Adrian Veștea represents the guarantee of the country's pro-Western direction, the completion of the PNRR projects, the accession to the OECD, the operationalization of the SAFE program for security and dialogue with all pro-Western democratic formations.

I support him with all conviction because I know his character, seriousness and ability to achieve results. And I believe that Romania needs, more than ever, leaders who have demonstrated through deeds, not through words”, also wrote parliamentarian Sebastian Mihai Rusu, head of PNL Braşov.
