Ice cream will become more expensive in Russia. The cost of dairy products has already increased by 15%, chocolate – by 25%. Reason: rising prices for raw materials, packaging, logistics + season. And separately, there is now a record price for cocoa beans (that’s why dark ones are more expensive). According to experts, there is another price jump in the future.
Figures for the Russian Federation. In January 2024, they made 14% more ice cream than in January 2023. According to the same scheme in February – but by 23%. In March – another +14.4%. Total growth in the first quarter was 17.22%. And this is already additional. out-of-season load and rising costs. Milk fats and cocoa beans unexpectedly added to the price. Look: cocoa futures in May 2023 – $3k. This one is $11k+ at the peak and $8k now. Not sweet.
Manufacturers buy blackberry in different places and volumes (for some, 2% per ton of mixture is enough). Therefore, the price jump will be different. For example, ice cream will not rise in price much. But creamy or glazed is fine. But everything also depends on the markup of suppliers and retail chains. Moreover, the first increase in price occurred in March-April. Now the threat is here again because of the season.
PS Fun fact: the country makes the most ice cream Moscow.
