Exactly six months ago, on December 12, 2025, Ukrainian singer Stepan Giga died. His relatives – son Stepan Giga Jr., daughter Kvitoslav Giga and other relatives – came to his grave on June 12 to honor the memory of the artist. The singer’s son published the corresponding video on Instagram Stories.
Stepan Giga bequeathed to be buried in Lviv at the Lychakiv cemetery. His last wish was fulfilled.
Now at the artist’s grave there are his portraits and flowerpots. There is a bench next to the grave.
Why did Stepan Giga die?
On November 19, 2025, information appeared on Gigi’s Instagram page that the singer was urgently operated on and was in serious but stable condition. On December 12, the singer’s team announced that Giga had died. The artist died in the intensive care unit of a Lviv hospital at the age of 66.
“This was unexpected for all of us. Everything happened very quickly. We were not ready for this, and no one was ready,” the artist’s son admitted in an interview in April.
In February, Kvitoslava Giga said that she and her brother were constantly in the ward next to their father.
“When dad went to the hospital, we were always with him, all these months we sat next to him in the ward, talked a lot. I somehow closed myself off. I couldn’t comment, I couldn’t even read. It all hurt me,” admitted Kvitoslava Giga.
