In the summer, salon pedicures have to be renewed every two weeks, and the prices for the procedure are steep. But the news agency EAOMedia knows a simple scheme that quickly puts your heels and toes in order without hitting your wallet.
Foot preparation:
A sea salt bath is the first step to soft feet. Throw a handful of coarse salt into a bowl of warm water and keep your feet in the bath for 15–20 minutes. Salt perfectly softens rough skin, relieves fatigue and prepares the feet for further processing. After this procedure, the heels become as soft as a baby’s.
Scrub from coffee grounds and olive oil – the second stage. Mix the spent coffee with a spoon of oil to a thick paste and rub into your feet with massaging movements. Coffee particles work as a soft abrasive, removing dead cells, and the oil nourishes and softens the skin. This homemade scrub doesn't scratch, doesn't dry out, and smells better than any store-bought product.
Home pedicure:
Nails need to be cut correctly – only in a straight line and not at the root. A haircut that is too short provokes the plate to grow into the skin, which ends in pain and inflammation. Leave a millimeter of free edge and carefully file sharp corners with a nail file.
It is better not to cut the cuticle, but to push it back. After the bath, it gives in easily; just carefully move it with an orange stick to the base of the nail. Cuticle cutting often leads to wounds and hangnails, and the gentle method preserves the protective barrier around the nail.
Polishing and waxing are the final touch using Japanese technology. Japanese women use a special soft nail file to polish their nails to a natural shine, and then rub beeswax or nourishing oil into the plate and skin. The wax seals the moisture inside, the nails become strong, smooth and begin to shine beautifully without varnish. This type of care lasts a long time and looks neat even after a week.
A home pedicure takes less than an hour, costs pennies compared to a salon, and gives results no worse than a professional one. Regular procedures turn feet into silk and nails into strong and shiny plates. The main thing is to do this systematically, and then expensive craftsmen will simply not be needed.
