GSP visited the construction site where they work at 30 degrees!

GSP visited the site of the future stadium in Pitesti and found several workers working from dawn, in 30 degrees, on one of the biggest investments currently underway in the sports infrastructure in Romania. Almost half a year after the official start of the works, the project has passed the phase of demolition and excavation, already entering the stage of making the resistance structure.
On the site of the former “Nicolae Dobrin” stadium, you can see the poured foundations for the future arena, dozens of reinforced casings prepared for pillars and beams, but also the first vertical concrete elements that begin to outline the future construction. Several tower cranes dominate the construction site, while teams of workers work simultaneously in different areas of the complex.

The impressive amounts of reinforced concrete, the erected formwork and the huge excavated area already give an idea of the dimensions that the new stadium will have. In some sectors, the future bodies of the arena are visiblewith concrete pillars and walls raised above the level of the foundations.
For now, the arena is far from the final image fans will see, however the construction site shows that the project has entered an important stagewhere the underground infrastructure and basic structure are starting to take shape.
15,000 seats and UEFA 4 standard for FC Argeș
The new arena will be classified to UEFA 4 standard and will have a capacity of 15,200 seats, all covered.
Work officially began in January 2026, and the construction period is estimated to be between 26 and 36 months. In the optimistic scenario, the stadium would be inaugurated in the spring of 2028. Until then, FC Argeș, the revelation of the recently concluded Super League season, will continue to play its matches considered “home” in Mioveni.
The complex will occupy approximately 71,000 square meters and is built on the site of the old stadium in Trivale, demolished in the period 2023-2025.
100 million eurosis the estimate for the investment from the Pitesti stadium, the financing being made exclusively through CNI (National Investment Company).
The project also promises some firsts for the sports infrastructure in Romania. The arena will be the first to operate exclusively with renewable energy during matches, and the facade will integrate modern LED technology.
In addition to the stadium itself, the complex will include a museum dedicated to the FC Argeș club, commercial spaces and restaurants, halls for sports such as boxing, judo and karate, as well as a multifunctional hall for various events.
For supporters, the experience will be radically different from the one offered by the old stadium. The arena will be built without a running track, and the stands will be located very close to the playing surface.
The pitch will benefit from hybrid turf and modern drainage, heating and automatic irrigation systems. A center of excellence for juniors will also operate within the complex, equipped with accommodation, classrooms and facilities for medical recovery.
The media area will comply with international standards and have 100 press seats, TV studios overlooking the pitch and a modern conference room. In addition, the stadium will have 14 VIP boxes, a generous hospitality area and a parking lot with approximately 457 spaces, including coaches and TV broadcast cars.
