Tomac emphasized, in an interview with RFI, that public policies do not belong to a single person, but are the result of teamwork at the governmental level. In his opinion, continuity is essential for administrative stability.
“All the good things started by the Government must be continued, because they are not the reforms of a single person”said Tomac.
Digitization, priority for administration reform
Eugen Tomac believes that one of the essential directions is the acceleration of the digitization of the public administration, without which the structural reforms cannot be effectively implemented.
The designated prime minister announced that he is analyzing the possibility of introducing a deputy prime minister responsible for this field, arguing that the modernization of the administration depends directly on digitization.
Currently, the process is carried out in a reduced proportion, and the lack of consistent institutional pressure has delayed the implementation of some already existing projects.
No new projects “for the sake of image”
The designated prime minister stated that he does not support the launch of new initiatives just for political capital, but prefers the completion of those already started.
“I will not be a fan of starting new projects just for the sake of saying it's my initiative”said Tomac, emphasizing that the main objective is to complete the ongoing programs.
Also, the need for a closer dialogue with local administrations to identify the best solutions adapted to the current context.
Eugen Tomac's statements come in the context of the negotiations for the formation of a new Executive and the discussions regarding the priorities of the government in the next period.
We remind you that, on Thursday, June 11, the Leadership of the National Liberal Party met in a meeting of the National Political Bureau, to decide whether or not to support the Government proposed by Prime Minister Eugen Tomac.
