As “Fakt” explains, there is no single, general minimum wage in Norway. Minimum hourly wages are set for individual industries by the Norwegian Council for Collective Bargaining and are updated annually. Employers must comply with them, even if the employee does not belong to a trade union.

According to Statistics Norway, average monthly earnings in this country are approximately PLN 56,000. NOK 360 (Norwegian kroner) gross, i.e. over PLN 21,000. zloty. Everyone employed in a given sector is guaranteed a certain minimum wage, which cannot be lowered.
The minimum wage in Norway depends on several factors
As “Fakt” calculates, in construction, qualified workers earn on average NOK 238 (approx. PLN 85) per hour, machine operators – NOK 250 (approx. PLN 89). In cleaning it is NOK 216 (PLN 77), in the fishing industry from NOK 206 to 220 (PLN 74-78), and in road transport – NOK 207 (PLN 74). Seasonal workers in agriculture receive from NOK 135 (PLN 48), and those with experience – NOK 150 (PLN 53).

The highest salaries are recorded in the IT, medicine and engineering sectors. Specialists can count on salaries exceeding the national average, which is over PLN 21,000. PLN gross per month. The amount of salary also depends on the region and the local labor market. As “Fakt” notes, people employed in large cities can count on higher wages than those employed in less urbanized areas.
