Prime Minister Donald Tusk assessed that in the message of President Karol Nawrocki there was a desire for the new president to have competences, which the prime minister and the government had in the Polish political system. In his opinion, there is a “change of guard” at the right. There is an obviously new leader, I would not like to be in the skin of the PiS president – he added.

– This is not the first time as the prime minister I listen to the speech of the president (…), where you can see the desire to have the competences he has in the Polish political system of the prime minister and the government – said Tusk, asked by journalists in the Sejm about the first message of the new president. He stipulated, however, that the constitution, which Nawrocki referred to many times in his message, is “unambiguous”.

I hope – I am not sure, but I hope – that this time is quite a buzzing and confrontational tone will not have any practical consequences. But if it is necessary, we will be hard as a guards of the constitution and rules – said the head of government.

The Prime Minister's speech was positively assessed, indicating that the president is a graduate of “good university” and “very good faculty”. “This is my university, I'm from the same faculty, so you understand what I want to say,” he added. – Even if not all quotes were accurately selected, it was obvious that President Nawrocki was preparing long and conscientiously – said Tusk.

Prime Minister: The day is sad and disappointing. Let's do everything to mobilize us to victory in two years

Prime Minister Donald Tusk, talking about the Wednesday's swearing in to Karol Nawrocki as president, emphasized that after defeat you have to get up and move on. – We set off again for victory; Let's do everything so that there are even more of us in two years and that today it will only mobilize us to it – he said.

According to the prime minister, “the only nervous and more sad politician in the room” was the PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński on Wednesday in the Sejm. – I'm not surprised at all. There is a change of guard on the right, there is an evidently new right -wing leader – he assessed. The head of the Polish government referred to the Wednesday words of Kaczyński, who – turning to the TVN24 journalist in the Sejm – said that he “does not talk to rude”. – It seems to me that these nerves of President Kaczyński are justified, I would not like to be in his skin – said Tusk.

In the message given after the message of the message, Nawrocki said, among others about the need to “restore the rule of law”. – It is hard to call a law -abiding state in which it does not work and does not operate a legally elected national prosecutor, in which Article 7 of the Constitution stating that state authorities must act on the basis of and law, is unfortunately regularly broken – said Nawrocki.

Referring to words about the rule of law, the prime minister said that he could conclude that it was “an attempt to wit or mockery from Mr. Nawrocki and PiS benches, because PiS MPs reacted very energetically.” He added that when the words were said that “President Nawrocki did not like the prosecutor's office”, in PiS benches, applause. – I am not surprised that PiS is very keen on President Nawrocki somehow effectively paralyzed the work of the prosecutor's office, but I want to say: your failure – said the head of government.

He also noted that he listened to the message of Nawrocki “with peace and hope that in these key matters such as security, the Polish army, there would be a field to cooperate.” He added that in his opinion Nawrocki “will quickly get used to the real situation in Poland.” – The real situation is (that) Mr. President represents and the government rules – said the prime minister.

The National Assembly, before which Karol Nawrocki took the presidential oath, ended before 11. After the ceremony in the Sejm, Karol Nawrocki and his wife take part in the mass for the homeland and president in the Archcathedral of St. John the Baptist. (PAP)
