College graduates are increasingly applying for jobs requiring higher education

In Russia, a growing proportion of applicants with college degrees are applying for positions that previously more often required a college degree. RIA Novosti reports this.
According to the study, a new trend is emerging in the labor market. Candidates with secondary vocational education are more actively responding to vacancies in areas where previously employers more often expected a university diploma. This process affects different professions. The areas with a noticeable increase in employees with secondary vocational education included managers, certification specialists, veterinarians and certain categories of medical personnel.
At the same time, employers also began to more often soften educational requirements for different positions. The most noticeable increase in the share of vacancies where secondary vocational education is allowed has increased among offers for store directors.
Analysts attribute this to changes in the labor market and the growing demand for specialists who have practical skills.
