On this day, musician, teacher, leader of the folk violin ensemble, Honorary Citizen of the city of Birobidzhan Semyon Naumovich Groysman was born in Birobidzhan.

Semyon Naumovich graduated from secondary school No. 2 in the city of Birobidzhan, then entered the Khabarovsk Music College to study violin. Having successfully completed it, he received a higher musical education at the East Siberian State Institute of Culture.
For 40 years he was a music teacher at the Birobidzhan Pedagogical School and combined teaching children at a music school.
In 1964, at the city Palace of Culture Groysman S.N. with his six students he created a violin ensemble.
Semyon Naumovich was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor and was given the title “Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation.” He is a laureate of the Birobidzhan City Hall Prize in the field of musical creativity.
By a resolution of the head of the administration of the city of Birobidzhan dated May 31, 1992, he was awarded the title “Honorary Citizen of the City of Birobidzhan.”
In 1996, Semyon Groysman left for permanent residence in the state of Israel, but did not lose touch with his fellow countrymen. In Israel, he worked as a teacher at a music school and created a children's violin ensemble. For some time he lived with his eldest daughter in Toronto; after returning to Israel, Semyon Naumovich gives private lessons. Together with students and a pianist, they perform concerts, usually for charity.

The Regional Museum of Local Lore was established by the decision of the regional executive committee of the Jewish Autonomous Region and the regional executive committee on September 5, 1944. June 10, 1945 it opened its doors to visitors for the first time.
The museum consisted of several departments: “Nature of the region”, “Industry and agriculture”, “Cultural construction” and “Jewish culture”. Until 1989, its halls were dominated by material on the development of the national economy of the period of “developed socialism” with the ideology of the leading communist party.
In 2002–2003, the museum was closed for re-exposition. The decoration, sketches, and design of the new exhibition were created and implemented by A.A., a member of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation from Khabarovsk. Suchkov. Currently, the museum presents the following halls: “Nature of the Jewish Autonomous Region” (designed by the artist Cheskidov and is considered one of the best in the Far East), “History of the development of the Amur region by Russians from the mid-17th to the beginning of the 20th century”, “Archaeological past”, “Civil War in the Far East” (the diorama “Volochaevskaya battle” was mounted, artists S.D. Agapov and A.A. Gorpenko), “Jewish autonomous region during the Great Patriotic War”, “History of the formation of the Jewish Autonomous Region”, “Modern history of the region”. After reconstruction, the museum now has an exhibition hall and a hall “Objects of Judaic Religion”, which is based on the collection donated to the museum by Rabbi from Israel D. Edelstein

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) June 10, 1947 on its pages talked about the Birobidzhan branch of the All-Russian Theater Society (VTO). In 1940, a branch of the All-Russian Theater Society was organized in Khabarovsk with branches in all regional centers of the region. Over the years of its existence, the branch of the society, consisting mainly of employees of the State Jewish Theater named after. L.M. Kaganovich, held several spectator conferences. At these conferences, the audience actively discussed the report on the ten-year creative path of the theater and appreciated its work during the Great Patriotic War.
The Birobidzhan branch of the theater society took part in the patriotic movement to raise funds for the country's defense fund. Together with the writers of Birobidzhan, a large artistic and literary evening was organized, the proceeds from which (10 thousand rubles) were transferred through the Jewish anti-fascist committee for the construction of tanks and aircraft for the Soviet Army. WTO members actively participated in military patronage work and in providing concerts and performances to Far Eastern soldiers. A number of creative evenings of artists, composers and painters were held both in Birobidzhan and Khabarovsk. Creative meetings were organized with visiting theater groups, concert ensembles and outstanding artists.
Such evenings took place with the composer I. Dunaevsky, with the director of the folk dance ensemble Igor Moiseev, with the Honored Artist of the Republic Lidia Ruslanova, with the pianist Igor Aptekarev, the artist Ts. Kipnis, Leningrad theater expert and critic G. Tsimbal gave lectures on issues of theatrical art to the theater staff. Continuing this work, the All-Russian Theater Society in the Jewish Autonomous Region intends to hold a whole series of creative evenings for artists, composers and artists of Birobidzhan.

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” on June 10, 1961 reported that a regional “talking” Board of Honor began operating in the city of Obluchye, in which leading production workers spoke about their achievements. A microphone with an amplifier is installed in the office of the propaganda and agitation department. It is planned to record on film not only the performances of advanced workers, but also the leaders of teams that have achieved primacy in socialist competition.
“The hitherto silent messenger of the labor glory of the leading people of the region has really found a voice. The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” wrote on June 10, 1970 that regional competitions dedicated to the Summer Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR were held in Birobidzhan at the Dalselmash stadium. Teams from the regional center and districts of the region competed in athletics (6+), volleyball (6+), basketball (6+), table tennis (6+), kettlebell lifting (6+) and small towns (6+).
In the athletics competition, the team of athletes from Birobidzhan won the championship; the teams from the Leninsky and Smidovichsky districts took second and third places, respectively.
In volleyball, among the six participating teams, the first and second places were taken by the volleyball players of the regional center, and the third – by the Obluchensky district.
When summing up the results of the basketball competition, the sum of places occupied by the men's and women's teams was taken into account. The first two places were taken by the basketball teams of Birobidzhan, the third – by the Leninsky district.
Among the Gorodoshniks, the Birobidzhan team “Dalselmash” won the championship, the second place went to “Dynamo”, and the third place went to the Smidovichi district.
