Cluj University continues this summer's aggressive transfer campaign. The formation prepared by Cristiano Bergodi (61 years old) has already reached its fifth acquisition, after obtaining the signature of the Portuguese central midfielder Pedro Pinho (26 years old), income from Chavesa team that finished last season in 9th place in Portugal's second division.

The “Students” are preparing for participation in the Europa League preliminaries and are looking to strengthen all their departments.

After the transfers of Friday Adams, Neofytos Michail, Florent Poulolo and Marius Ștefănescu, the Romanian vice-champion also reached an agreement with Pedro Pinho. The Portuguese midfielder is a product of FC Porto's academy, one of the most successful clubs in Portuguese football.

Pedro Pinho started his football career at GDC Lordelo, and in 2010 he was co-opted into FC Porto's academy, where he spent three years.

After several experiences at youth level, the Portuguese midfielder arrived at Academica Coimbra in 2019, where he stood out in the U23 team and quickly became one of the main men.

His senior debut came in 2021, when he was loaned to Portuguese lower league side Sanjoanense.

His rise continued in the summer of 2023 when he signed for Chaves, who were playing in the Portuguese first league at the time. In that season he ticked 12 appearances on the first stage, but he could not avoid the relegation of his formation.

In the last two seasons, Pedro Pinho has played in the Portuguese second division, where he has amassed 65 appearances and six assists for Chaves.

The Portuguese's last official appearance was on May 9, in Chaves' 1-2 home defeat to Leixões. According to the specialized website Transfermarkt, the midfielder is valued at 850,000 euros.

At Cluj University, Pedro Pinho will fight for a starting place with Gabriel Simion, Dorin Codrea and Mouhamadou Drammeh, players who performed in the same position last season.
