A citywide left bank religious procession took place in Krasnoyarsk

7 June 18:50
On June 7, Metropolitan Nikita of Krasnoyarsk and Achinsk led a citywide left-bank religious procession dedicated to the celebration of the 165th anniversary of the Krasnoyarsk diocese. Participants carried an icon of the saints of the Krasnoyarsk Metropolis through the city streets.
The procession was attended by clergy of Krasnoyarsk churches, nuns of the convent of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and brethren of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary monastery, Cossacks of the Yenisei military Cossack society, singers of Krasnoyarsk church choirs, as well as Orthodox believers.
The procession began from the Paraskeva Pyatnitsa chapel on Karaulnaya Hill, where a prayer service was held, and continued along the streets of Razin and Shakhterov, and then along the embankments of Kacha and Yenisei to Strelka – the place where the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be recreated.
At the end point of the procession, Bishop Nikita performed a thanksgiving prayer service. At the end of the service, the ruling bishop addressed those gathered with a congratulatory speech, congratulating the believers on the significant day – the anniversary of the diocese, and noted that everyone is an accomplice in the revival of the cathedral on a historically significant site for Krasnoyarsk. After the prayer service there was a festive concert.
