New cars in Russia have risen noticeably in price since December 2025

Average prices for new cars in Russia have increased by 7% since December 2025, and for individual brands by more than 10%, Kommersant reports, citing dealer data.
According to Rolf estimates, the average price of a new passenger car is now about 3.4 million rubles.
Imported electric cars, hybrids and powerful foreign cars have risen in price the most – this is due to a change in the formula for calculating the recycling fee. For the import of cars with engines from 160 hp. With. rates increased to commercial rates; preferential rates remained for less powerful ones.
Nikolai Ivanov, director of sales of new cars at Rolf, notes that the effect of the new scrappage collection mechanism was partially smoothed out by the strengthening of the ruble. The average price of a new passenger car on the market, according to Ivanov, is now approximately 3.4 million rubles, having increased by 5–7% since December. But, he adds, the meaning varies greatly from segment to segment.
According to Avto.ru, from December to April the average cost of new local brands of cars increased by 4.5%, to 2.04 million rubles, and Chinese ones – by 6.2%, to 4.06 million rubles.
The rise in prices, according to Daniil Shkurygin, commercial director of Classified, is restrained both by the initiatives of distributors and by changes in the key rate and exchange rates, which play in favor of buyers.
