In our country, tangerine peels are considered garbage and inevitably end up in the trash. But in European countries, this “waste” is treasured like the apple of their eye. It turns out that tangerine peels can be very useful in the kitchen. The author of the Zen channel “Cooking with Natalya Kalnina” (16+) tells how to use tangerine peel.
So, here's what you can do with tangerine peels in the kitchen:
- dry the peels, grind to a powder and use as a natural flavoring for baked goods and drinks;
- prepare aromatic citrus oil or vinegar – to do this, simply add the peels to a bottle of oil and infuse;
- if the peels are added to jam or confiture, the delicacy will become even tastier and more aromatic;
- add crushed skins to tea, and the drink will become even more aromatic and healthier.
Well, if you are an avid summer resident, then dry the peels and bury them under berry bushes and fruit trees: such fertilizer will stimulate growth and repel pests and rodents.
