Daniel Oprița (44 years old), the coach of Stela, could leave the military club this summer to sign a new contract, also in League 2, with Hermannstadt, a team that was relegated this summer, after losing the tie with FC Voluntari.

Stop changing red-blue for red-white? The Sibiu team was left without a coach, after Dorinel Munteanu did not fulfill his goal, the save, and ended the contract a few days ago.

Now, according to journalist Emanuel Roșu's information, Daniel Oprița, a technician who said at the end of the League 2 season that he will leave Steaua, entered negotiations with the Hermannstadt bosses. The stage of discussions between the two parties is in the final phase and a decision is to be taken in the next period.

Daniel Oprița admitted the negotiations with a League 2 team

Daniel Oprița has not yet settled his accounts with Steaua, a team he has been with for 7 years and from which he has also said in the past that he is leaving, but in the end he stayed to continue the project. Even when it seemed that he was close to breaking up, his name being associated with Sepsis, Oprița remained.

Now, he has admitted that he is also in talks with a League 2 side, although he would have liked to take the next step and move to the first division.

“I am discussing with a League 2 club, next week I will know if it materializes. I would have wanted to take the next step, to go to a League 1 team. There were discussions, but they were not finalized. I would not have wanted to choose a second division team to the detriment of Stella, only that this is the situation with the right to promotion.

If nothing has been done so far, it is difficult to do it again. You don't even have time for paperwork, although I hope I'm wrong. At best, something should be done so you know you can promote next season. I would like to fight for something, even if Steaua remains Steaua, even without promotion rights.

It's not about money, as some say. The offer I have is higher than at Steaua, but I sit and think… When you have seven years at a club, you want to finish the job. I succeeded from a sporting point of view. There are coaches who were below me in the rankings and are now in League 1, while I stayed put.

We tried to solve it with the camp, we wanted to Cheile Grădiștei, but we couldn't find places. We are searching the area. We have established the friendly matches, there will be six, four at home and two away, after the training camp. With Ștefăneşti, Chiajna, Vâlcea, Afumați, Tunari and another 2nd League team,” said Daniel Oprița, Friday evening, as quoted by as.ro.

Oprița, on May 16: “It was my last match at Steaua!

After 7 years on the Stela bench, Daniel Oprița hinted after the last match in League 2 that his mission in Ghencea has come to an end, given that the contract is due to expire on June 30.

I am free of contract. Probably, it was the last match at Steaua! There can be no question of contract extension, given the situation as it is. Nobody knows anything! The captain can't come and offer me and the players contracts when the budget is unknown.
