Fires have engulfed five Israeli cities, caused by dry grass and strong winds. Forests and bushes are burning in Ashdod, Masuot Yitzhak, Shafir, Kfar Warburg and Eshtaol. The fire is also approaching residential areas of Jerusalem – despite the rain in the city.
Local media write: rescuers from Croatia, Greece, Italy and Cyprus will soon fly to Israel to help.
