Forbes magazine estimates that the American pop star Taylor Swift has become the richest singer of all time and that she has a fortune of 2 billion dollars, a 100% increase compared to the year 2024, write DPA and Agerpres on Friday.
Taylor Swift, 36, singer of hits like “Shake it Off,” became a billionaire in 2024 following her Eras Tour.
According to Forbes magazine, Swift is one of the most commercially successful female songwriters of all time.
In 2020, Swift made a mark in the music industry by re-recording almost her entire discography, and as a result, all copyrights went directly to her.
Forbes also states that the artist's Eras Tour became the highest-grossing tour in music history, grossing $2.2 billion. With the money from the tour, the artist bought the original master recordings of her songs, according to the magazine.
At the beginning of her career, Swift signed a contract with the record label Big Machine, with whom she recorded her first six albums. The label sold the rights to the albums in 2019 for more than $300 million to a company owned by former music manager Scooter Braun.
Swift says the sale was made without her consent.
In 2020, Braun in turn sold the rights to Los Angeles-based investment firm Shamrock Capital, from which Swift later bought them.
In 2025, Swift announced that she had bought back the rights to her first six albums.
