The Minister of the Environment Diana Buzoianu announced on Friday night that Sorin Lucaci from the position of director of the National Administration “Romanian Waters” at the position of director, the minister invoking the fact that Romania lost 300,000,000 euros through the PNRR due to the failure to define the flood defense.

Buzoianu said that the person who will ensure the interim management from “Romanian waters” will have “a mandate of transparency and reorganization”.
The Minister of the Environment has not hidden his intention to change the management of the national administration “Romanian waters”, the failure to use the funds in the PNRR being only one of the reasons invoked.
But Buzoianu postponed the decision stating that he is waiting for the Control Body report on Salina Praid.
“I am waiting for these days the report of the control body from the country's prime minister on the Praid area, which is almost completed, it just has to be assumed and transmitted in final form. When this report from Praid will appear, I will make an instant decision on the director of the Romanian Waters. It would have been normal for me to resign. Buzoianu on August 3.
Another reproach to those from “Romanian waters” was related to the huge costs of the rent for the headquarters, of 54,000 euros per month.
“We can no longer go forward with tens of thousands of euros every month just to be able to have a headquarters in the middle of Bucharest, in the belly of the fair, these people, who certainly do a job that must be useful to us all, but at the same time they must be proportional and what money they have.”
