Context

Ara recalls that in February it was decided to suspend Sputnik-Azerbaijan, which operates as a branch of the Russian Agency “Today”.

This decision was to ensure parity in the activities of state media Azerbaijan abroad and foreign journalists in the country. The number of journalists “Sputnik-Azerbaijan” working in Baku should have been the number of Azertaj journalists in Russia. However, the editors of Sputnik Azerbaijan did not comply with this decision.
