Representatives of United Russia planted trees in the courtyard of a Krasnoyarsk school on Ecologist Day

On June 5, Ecologist Day, representatives of the United Russia party held a landscaping and tree planting event on the territory of the second building of school No. 149 in the Airport microdistrict.
The building of school No. 149 in the Airport microdistrict opened in 2025 on Knowledge Day. It was built within the framework of the people's program of “United Russia” and the party project “New School”.
The initiator of the event to plant a school yard was Artem Rechitsky, deputy of the Krasnoyarsk City Council, regional coordinator of the Green Economy party project. The party members were joined by teachers, students and school graduates, as well as activists of the youth meeting at the City Council. The site was decorated with 16 lilac seedlings. Participants of the action were given equipment and given instructions before planting shrubs.
“The action is timed to coincide with Ecologist Day, on which I congratulate everyone involved in the holiday. They decided to create a hedge on the territory of the new building of school No. 149. A lot of trees need to be planted in the Vzlyotki microdistrict; there is a shortage of green space here. There is a strong belief that school grounds should be a kind of park, an oasis. Last year we landscaped the areas of schools No. 150 and No. 157. Now we have decided to make the new building of the educational institution greener so that it will welcome the children in the new school year!” said Artyom Rechitsky.
As Oksana Merkulova, deputy director for educational work, noted, the school is one of the leaders in environmental education in the Krasnoyarsk Territory: “Teachers and parents have determined for themselves that children need to be educated not in words about ecology and respect for nature, but in deeds. We hold promotions all year round: in the fall we collect waste paper, in the winter we make feeders, in the spring we make birdhouses, and again we return to collecting paper and plastic for subsequent recycling. Artyom Evgenievich actively helps us in all our endeavors!”
The chairman of the commission on infrastructure and transport of the youth assembly at the city Council of Deputies, Mark Sas, shared his impressions: “I really like the idea of planting trees and landscaping. Our city needs this. It's a pleasure to become a participant in such events. Moreover, I am a graduate of this school, I was glad to see the teachers. Today we took a small step towards making our Krasnoyarsk brighter.”
In addition, today Artyom Rechitsky, together with the team of the United Russia public support headquarters, planted cotoneaster bushes on the territory of the Green Construction Administration nursery as part of the city's greening in honor of the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk. The management team joined the event.
