Cucumbers are one of the favorite vegetables of every summer resident. They are needed for salads, pickles, okroshka and fresh appetizers. But often by mid-summer the garden bed turns into a pitiful sight: the leaves are coated with white, the fruits are bitter, and there is no harvest. Especially if the weather is rainy and you don’t have time to pull out weeds or spray infusions every day.
But there are hybrids that grow on their own. One of the best is “Courage F1”. This is a cucumber that does not need pollination, which means it sets fruit even in cloudy weather or under a film. It is practically immune to powdery mildew, olive spot and mosaic virus – the main troubles of the cucumber bed.
The bush grows compactly, the vines do not spread, and the fruits are formed in bunches of 4–6 pieces per node. They are 10–12 cm long, crispy, without bitterness, with small seeds and thick skin, ideal for pickling. And most importantly, the fruits do not outgrow over the weekend if you went to your neighbor’s dacha or flew away on vacation.
Care is incredibly simple: watering once every 2-3 days, mulching under the bush and cleaning overgrown cucumbers once every 5 days. There is no need to spray with chemicals, pick off “barren flowers” or look for bees for pollination.
If you are tired of cucumbers that do not produce fruit, plant “Courage F1”. Even if you remember about the garden only in August, it will bloom and give crispy fruits until the frost.
Question and answer:

It grows best in full sun but tolerates light shade.
