US President Donald Trump expects mutual compromises from Ukraine and the aggressor country of the Russian Federation to end the Russian-Ukrainian war. He stated this on June 4 during a conversation with reporters at the White House, which was broadcast on the Trump residence channel on YouTube.
He claims that he offered his own versions of such agreements and compromises in the past, and Trump called Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin “very good people.”
“These are two incredible countries, beautiful countries. They need to stop. 25,000 people died last month,” Trump said.
He was also asked about Zelensky’s published letter, in which he addressed Putin.
“I think it would be great if they met. They should do it,” Trump responded.
Separately, the head of the White House said that the United States provided Ukraine with the “best in the world” military assistance and weapons “worth hundreds of millions of dollars,” without which, according to him, the country would not be able to continue the war.
“They wouldn't last a day or two. They couldn't,” Trump added.
