Employees of the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station cleaned the Yenisei of abandoned fishing nets

Employees of the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station EN+ took part in the All -Russian campaign “Day without networks”.

Together with Rosrybolovstvo, they caught more than two dozen abandoned networks for fishing in the site from Divnogorsk to Krasnoyarsk, having passed about 50 km on water. The shares were also attended by amateur fishermen, representatives of public organizations and public inspectors of fish protection, the institute of which has been developing EN+ since 2023.

The participants in the event on boats checked the areas of the Yenisei, which are most often chosen for fishing. Preventive conversations were held with the fishermen and gave out memos according to the rules of fish farming. In total, 25 networks of a total more kilometer long were caught during the raid. The length of each network was about 50 meters.

Participants in the action note that modern networks are almost invisible in water. Only a small float remains on the water, which is almost invisible from the shore, and the network itself is lowered to itself bottom. Some networks remain in the water, forgotten by their owners. Over time, they are destroyed, polluting the water with microplasty. This negatively affects the ecosystem of rivers, lakes and worsens the quality of water. In addition, networks are dangerous for mammals and birds that can get confused in them and die. They can also be dangerous for people and prevent the movement of transport.

“Such raids help to return good maples to bona fide fishermen. And guarantee that he will be in this and next year. Now there is spawning, and the networks cause irreparable damage to the ecosystem, because one fish caught at this time is minus 10 next year. Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station stands at the Yenisei. This river is our property and our responsibility. We must save it for descendants.
