Cristi Chivu, marathon negotiations with Inter! Four hours at the negotiating table for the new contract

Cristi Chivu worked wonders on the Inter Milan bench. The Romanian technician entered the history of the Italian club by winning the event in the current season, the championship title and the Italian Cup, becoming the first to obtain these two distinctions both as a player and as a coach.

The Romanian had a lot of work. He managed to turn the team around by setting clear short-term goals, which he met, much to the disappointment of his naysayers. Cristi Chivu's arrival at Inter was considered by many to be a risky bet.
The officials did not think twice and proposed the extension of the collaboration to the technician. Thus, Chivu was invited to a negotiation session by president Giuseppe Marotta, which lasted no less than four hours, according to the Italians from Gazzetta dello Sport.
They negotiated for almost four hours
The two parties would have agreed on a contract valid until 2028, with the possibility of extension for another year. The news would be shared with fans during the Serie A festival in Parma today.
“It was a busy afternoon for Cristian Chivu at Inter's club headquarters on Via della Liberazione, where the Nerazzurri coach spent around four hours with the management. This was a crucial meeting to hammer out the final details of his contract extension, an agreement which in reality had already been reached for some time. All that remains now is the official confirmation of the extension of the deal until 2028, with an option for another season.
The formal announcement is expected very soon: President Giuseppe Marotta will most likely make it tomorrow in Parma during the Serie A Festival. The meeting was not only to secure the financial agreement, but was also an opportunity to plan the club's next strategic moves. Chivu and the Inter board have reviewed the transfer market, looking closely at various options, starting with youngster Palestra's future!“Gazzetta dello Sport noted.
