The storms wreaked havoc in several counties and in Bucharest. Dozens of interventions by firefighters

Eleven localities from 7 counties and the capital were affected, on Thursday, by the hydrometeorological phenomena, the firefighters intervening to remove the water from 13 houses and from more than 50 yards.

According to the Department for Emergency Situations (DSU), following the manifestation of the forecasted hydrometeorological phenomena, on Thursday, between 08:00 and 21:00, effects were recorded at the level of 11 localities from 7 counties – Buzau, Călăraşi, Dâmboviţa, Giurgiu, Ilfov, Ialomița and Sălaj – and the City of Bucharest, where they intervened to evacuate water from 13 houses and 2 outbuildings, 54 yards, 3 basements, as well as for the clearance of a fallen tree and some affected construction elements.
In Bucharest there were 6 interventions and in Lviv no less than 58 interventions, as follows: 39 – Pantelimon; 9 – Petrachioaia; 4 – Ganesha; 4 – Smoke; 1 – Tanganu; 1 – Mogoșoaia.
“Requests are taken dynamically by the crews operating with motor pumps, in some situations large amounts of accumulated water were recorded, which is why the intervention resources (motor pumps) were supplemented”announces DSU.
In the town of Brătileşti, Buzău county, the intervention of an ambulance was requested for an 82-year-old woman with respiratory ailments. The access road to it was impassable for motor vehicles due to the high flow of a river.
The local authorities and a crawler from the ISU acted to create an access road and transport the person to the SAJ ambulance, from where he was taken in order to be transferred to the hospital. In order to support the mission, the intervention of an IGAv helicopter was requested, but, following the telephone discussions, the patient refused air transport, reports the quoted source.
The intervention forces continue to act in the field to remove the effects of the forecasted hydrometeorological phenomena, with sustained efforts being made to limit their impact on the communities and to restore safety conditions.
