The army denies: Generals Gheorghiță and Berdilă did not submit their retirement applications after the DNA file

The information appeared in the public space according to which General Gheorghiță Vlad, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army and Lieutenant General Iulian Berdilă submitted their requests to be transferred to the reserve. This is after the DNA initiated the criminal investigation. in the case of the first of these, it is officially denied by MApN through the institution's spokesperson,
But the information is not confirmed, “they did not submit anything”, answered Daniel Nistor, MApN, to HotNews' request.
The case in brief
On Tuesday, the DNA launched the criminal investigation against General Vlad, who is accused of the crime of complicity in the usurpation of office. The head of the Army is accused of having issued an order for 20 students admitted to the Bucharest National University of Physical Education and Sport to go to the budget by supplementing the places. Of them, 3 were to be assigned as officers at the MApN.
Berdilă's name also appears in the file, and this is because she allegedly signed the request to the Ministry of Education “regarding the addition of places from the budget for the National University of Physical Education and Sport Bucharest – Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, exceeding the limits of the powers conferred by the legislation”. All with the complicity of General Vlad, prosecutors claim.
General Gheorghiță Vlad rejected the accusations made by DNA and did not say anything about withdrawal or retirement. Instead, the PSD president, Sorin Grindeanu, asked for his resignation on Wednesday.
