Neymar Jr. did not participate in Brazil's first training sessions in the USA

Located in the Morristown (New Jersey) training camp, the Brazilian football team is preparing its debut at the World Championship. Neymar Junior, who is recovering from an injury, was absent from the first training sessions.

One week is left until the start of the 2026 edition of the World Cup that will be held in Canada, Mexico and the USA. And the multiple champion Brazil established its headquarters at the training base of the New York Red Bulls team in Morristown (USA, New Jersey).
The South American team held an open training attended by approximately two hundred fans who came to cheer on the footballers trained by Carlo Ancelotti. Neymar was absent from this technical meeting. He injured his calf after Ancelotti announced the squad for the final tournament in North America, which prevented him from taking part in the Brazilian team's first two training sessions.
Neymar Jr. made his debut for Brazil in 2010
Known as Neymar or Neymar Jr, the Brazilian star plays as a wing midfielder for Santos in the Campeonato Brasileiro da Série A. Internationally, he has made 128 appearances for the national team. He made his debut for Brazil in the match against the United States on August 10, 2010. He scored after only 28 minutes of play. With the first national team, he won the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2013. He also won the Olympic silver medal with Brazil in 2012, in London.

Fans in New Jersey, one of the US states with a large Brazilian community, braved the scorching sun and temperatures of nearly 30 degrees Celsius to get autographs from the Selecao players.
After training, Matheus Cunha said: “I want to represent Brazil at the World Cup. I'm not interested in being the favorite. I just want to win with this team.”
Brazil will play Morocco, Haiti and Scotland at the WC
Brazil won 6-2 in the warm-up match against Panama last Sunday at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Later this week, they will travel to Cleveland (Ohio) to face Egypt in their final warm-up match.
The five-time world champion will make her World Championship debut on June 13 against Morocco in New York/New Jersey. The Brazilians will then play Haiti in Philadelphia and Scotland in Miami in Group C.
