It turns out that in order to clean your microwave from old stains and dirt, you don’t have to use aggressive chemicals or spend hours rubbing the equipment. There is one simple life hack that expert Dmitry Zmievsky shared, and it involves an ordinary lemon.
How lemon can help whiten your microwave
Take a wide container with a volume of 600 ml and one lemon (you can use 1 tablespoon of citric acid instead). Pour 0.5 liters of water into a container and add lemon juice or citric acid. Place the bowl in the microwave and turn on the most powerful setting for 6 minutes.
When the steam settles inside and the dirt gets wet, remove the container, remove the circle and wipe the entire inside of the microwave with a napkin or sponge. If there are hard-to-reach stains, wipe them with a sponge soaked in the same lemon solution.
Features and nuances
Precautions: You can clean the microwave in this way no more than once a month. Otherwise, there is a risk that the acid will begin to corrode the coating from the inside.
Some clean the surface with 9% table vinegar, diluting it in equal proportions with water. The disadvantage of this method is that vinegar leaves a specific smell in the microwave, while lemon leaves behind only a slight citrus aroma.
