The MTS digital ecosystem conducted a study of the global and Russian markets for AI agents.
According to its results, by 2030, users will perform up to 90% of actions through AI agents. This will mean a complete shift from self-selection to a delegation model, with digital assistants acting on behalf of humans.
The contours of future interaction are already being formed. If in 2025 the user himself realizes his need and uses AI as an advanced search engine to analyze options, then by 2030 the AI agent will proactively identify potential needs by analyzing the context of previous purchases, the calendar and indicators of smart devices. At the search and analysis stage, the technology will turn into a single window that independently collects information from marketplaces, websites and other sources, forming comprehensive recommendations.

The biggest change is in the shopping and payment process. Instead of having to independently compare offers and enter payment information, the user will only determine the framework – budget, preferences and restrictions. The AI agent, acting within the specified parameters, will be able to independently make purchases, optimize the price by applying coupons and tracking the dynamics of discounts, and also conduct a security check, excluding suspicious sites.
Logistics and after-sales services will also come under the full control of agents. They will autonomously select the delivery method and time, taking into account the user’s location and schedule, track the order in real time and communicate with delivery services. In addition, after purchase, the technology will be able to automatically track warranty periods and remind you of the need for service or replacement of the product.
The study was conducted by the Research & Insights team of the MTS Digital Product Strategy Center. The methodology included desk analysis of data on investments by venture capital funds, big tech and government funding, as well as a series of expert interviews with leading Russian and international specialists.
