MegaFon and the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) agreed on a pilot project to introduce a voice robot in the Yakut language for a number of government agencies.
The parties also intend to implement a number of projects in the field of communications, information security and digitalization of public services. An agreement on this was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2026.
The signatories were the General Director of MegaFon Khachatur Pombukhchan and the Head of the Republic of Sakha Aisen Nikolaev.
One of the key areas of cooperation will be a pilot to introduce a voice robot with the ability to communicate in the Yakut language for the needs of government organizations, in particular the Civil Registry Office under the Government and other institutions. The solution will automate consultations for residents of the republic and make receiving feedback more accessible.
In addition, MegaFon will continue to develop telecom infrastructure in Yakutia. In the coming year, the operator will focus on expanding coverage along winter road routes. To ensure stable communications between government organizations in critical situations, it is planned to create a digital trunking network.
“Yakutia is an important region for MegaFon – hundreds of telecom facilities operate here in cities and remote small settlements, communications and mobile Internet are provided at local fields and enterprises. Last year alone, our technical service built and modernized almost 200 base stations in the Republic, this year more than 50 communication facilities have already received updates,” said MegaFon CEO Khachatur Pombukhchan. “I am confident that partnership with regional authorities will increase the availability of telecom services for residents of Yakutia and will open up new prospects for the digitalization of government institutions.”
“The development of digital technologies makes it possible to eliminate the inequality with other regions caused by our vast territory and complex logistics. We expect that consolidating cooperation with such technology partners as MegaFon and introducing modern solutions, information products and services that compete on the open market will allow us to bring the quality of life in Yakutia to a fundamentally new level,” commented the head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev.
