As soon as you notice that the tomato seedlings have turned white after planting, you need to urgently solve the problem – otherwise the harvest this season will not be successful. There are two reasons for this, according to an expert from the Zen channel “Lyubimaya Dacha. Garden and Vegetable Garden” – stress and sun.
When leaf blades are exposed to the sun, photosynthesis occurs more slowly. If a bush has more than 30% faded leaves, then it will be sick for a long time, and it will bear fruit much later than the others.
To protect the seedlings from the sun, the expert suggests covering them with a loose non-woven fabric. If tomatoes grow not in a greenhouse, but in the open air, then such a shelter will additionally protect them from rain and downpours. Holes should be left along the edges of the beds through which the plant will receive oxygen.
How to feed seedlings
For pale bushes, fertilizing with nettle infusion is especially useful. Fill a tenth of the barrel or any other container with chopped nettles and add water to the end. Cover the barrel with a lid and place it on the sunny side. After 5 days, the infusion will be ready.
For one bush, 1 liter of infusion is enough. The effect will appear almost immediately: the plants will come to life before our eyes.
Life hack: to quickly revive seedlings, spray them with the anti-stress drug “Epin”. Carry out the procedure in the morning or evening so as not to burn them additionally.
