Former Finance Minister Mateusz Szczurek will join the IMF


The fund confirmed this information in its latest announcement. Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański also spoke on this matter.

Mateusz Szczurek will take up the position of director of the European Department, where he will be responsible for the relations of the International Monetary Fund with 46 member countries of the European Union and the euro zone.

His main tasks will include strategic advice in the area of ​​maintaining macroeconomic, financial and external stability, as well as stimulating sustainable economic development. In addition His key responsibilities will include supervision of the IMF aid program dedicated to Ukraine.
