Today, June 2, the opening of the traveling exhibition of portraits “They Fought for the Motherland” took place at the National Center “Russia”.
The exhibition is based on portraits of military personnel and volunteers who died in the Northern Military District. The works were done by the artist Shamil Kurbanov in oil on canvas. Each canvas tells the story of a fighter, his combat journey and awards received.
A special place in the exhibition is occupied by five portraits of natives of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, created specifically for the exhibition. They are dedicated to the fallen soldiers of the region who showed courage and dedication in the performance of military duty.
The opening began with a ceremonial meeting. After the official part, guests were able to fully get acquainted with the exhibition and learn more about the exploits of their fellow countrymen.
The project was implemented by the Krasnoyarsk regional public organization of combat veterans “Siberia” together with the creative group Pavel Shabrin with the support of veteran organizations of Russia.
The organizers note that the main goal of the exhibition is to preserve historical memory, patriotic education of young people and introduce the region’s residents to examples of courage, perseverance and selfless service to the Motherland.
