A man and a child froze to death in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory

13 March 14:38

In the Evenki district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, investigators are establishing the circumstances of the death of a 51-year-old man and a 4-year-old child. Their bodies with signs of hypothermia were found the day before in a forest 50 kilometers from the village of Tura.

According to preliminary data, on March 7, father and son drove their car with a trailer with a snowmobile into the taiga in the direction of the village of Ekonda, but they did not return home. On March 11, the man's employer reported him missing to the police.

“On March 12, as a result of search efforts, the bodies of a man and a child, a snowmobile and a car were discovered by police and volunteers. Presumably, the dead went to the hunting hut, reached it on a snowmobile, stayed there and headed to the second hut, did not reach it, abandoned the snowmobile and walked back towards the first hut, but probably lost their way and froze,” the Investigative Committee said.

Based on this fact, a criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence of two persons), forensic examinations were ordered to establish the exact cause of death.

It is known that the man divorced his wife and in December brought his son from her from the Arkhangelsk region; since then the child has temporarily lived with his father.
