In Norilsk, a court sentenced an entrepreneur to 9 years in a maximum security colony for bribing a police officer. The prosecutor's office of the Krasnoyarsk region reported this.

In the fall of 2025, the police received a complaint about the theft of property from a production site. We were talking about metal pipes and other structures worth more than 1.3 million rubles. During the inspection, operatives found a local businessman. The man admitted that he removed the property and managed to dispose of part of the metal at his own discretion.

After a conversation with the police, where he was explained the possible consequences and qualifications of the alleged crime, the entrepreneur decided to avoid criminal prosecution.

“He asked to arrange a personal reception with the head of the department. The conversation turned out to be short and extremely specific. The visitor immediately made it clear that he did not want criminal prosecution and was ready to pay to resolve the issue. The answer turned out to be completely different from what the entrepreneur expected. A government representative reported the corruption proposal to management, after which an operational search operation was organized,” the press service of the supervisory agency said.

The next day, the entrepreneur made an appointment in the parking lot near the City shopping center on Leninsky Prospekt. In the parking lot, he got into the official Niva and again started talking about the prospects of criminal prosecution. After that, he took money out of his jacket pocket and put it in the back seat of the car – 1 million rubles.

As soon as the money was transferred, the attacker was detained. Already on the spot, he confirmed that he handed over the money precisely as a bribe. However, later his position changed, and he stopped admitting guilt.

Despite this, the court found the entrepreneur guilty of giving a bribe to an official on a large scale (clause “b”, part 4, article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). In addition to the punishment of imprisonment for 9 years, the man was also given a fine of 2 million rubles.

At the same time, the investigation into the criminal case about the theft itself, with which this story began, continues.
