The young man who dreamed of becoming a policeman was admitted to the Cluj Police Officers School at the end of 2024 and began classes in January 2025. Later, following some checks, the representatives of the police school discovered a statement that the young man gave as a witness in a criminal case of organized crime instrumented by DIICOT.
In front of the prosecutors, he would have admitted that he bought and consumed substances with a psychoactive effect approximately 60 times.
The institution's representatives noticed that the young man did not mention these episodes during recruitment. Faced with the fait accompli, the school management decided to expel him.
However, the police student contested the measure in court and claimed that in the DIICOT case he was only a witness, not a suspect or defendant, and that he told the truth before the prosecutors.
However, the Cluj Court rejected the request and established that the authorities had the right to consider his actions incompatible with the status of a future police officer.
