Poland impresses Europe with low unemployment. The Czech Republic and Germany are left behind

On Monday, Eurostat published unemployment data for EU countries for April this year. These numbers differ from the Central Statistical Office statistics because they do not include people who are not actually looking for employment.
Actually, we don't have 934.3 thousand in the country. unemployed, as recently reported by the Central Statistical Office, but 934.3 thousand “registered as unemployed in labor offices”. AND We had 542,000 truly unemployed people in April. – according to Eurostat data. It gives unemployment rate at 3 percent. Let us remind you that the Central Statistical Office calculated it at 6%. As you can see, half of the unemployed have this status only, among others: in order to use what they are entitled to anyway under the Constitution of the Republic of Poland, i.e. the right to free health care.
And with an unemployment rate of 3%. We impress Europe. Our closest neighbors are the Czech Republic (3.1%), which we overtook in December last year. and we still maintain a slight advantage. The situation is worse in Germany (3.8%), even worse in Slovakia (5.8%), and the worst in Lithuania (7.1%) and its neighbor across the Baltic Sea, i.e. Sweden (8.5%).
Either way, we're still not in the lead. Since December, just when we overtook the Czech Republic, Bulgaria overtook us and is still ahead of us. Moreover, unemployment there is falling (from 2.9% in March to 2.8% in April), and in Poland it is growing slightly (+6,000 people since March).
Decreases in unemployment
Throughout the European Union, unemployment fell by as much as 137,000 in April. people compared to March to 13.2 million, led by Sweden (-51 thousand m/m) and Greece (-50 thousand m/m). Unemployment fell in 14 out of 30 countries from which Eurostat received data.

Unfortunately, we are in the half of the EU countries that have recorded an increase in unemployment.
Unemployment increases
Within a month it increased in Poland by 6,000, according to Eurostat data. peoplewhich is not a number large enough to change the unemployment rate rounded to one decimal place.
Unemployment increased further in France (+17,000 people) and Denmark (+11,000), and Poland ranks fourth in the EU in terms of the increase in the number of unemployed people.
On a yearly basis, things are looking much better for us, as unemployment has dropped by a thousand people. Therefore, we are among 10 EU countries that can enjoy a positive result.
The most unemployed people are in France (over 2.6 million) and Spain (almost 2.6 million). While in France their number increased by as many as 236,000 during the year, in Spain it decreased by 37,000. This still prevented the Spaniards from bringing their unemployment rate below double digits, as it dropped to 10.3%. with 10.6 percent a year earlier.
The highest unemployment rate in the EU is not in Spain, but in Finland. This is where the indicator went in April this year. up to 10.7 percent with 9.7 percent 12 months earlier.
