President Karol Nawrocki vetoes SAFE. “Veto on Polish security”


Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański commented on the president's veto in strong words. According to him, this is “not an ordinary veto”, but “a veto against Polish security.”
Domański also criticized the president's alternative proposal, the so-called Polish SAFE 0 percent “Fairy tales about a hastily invented “Polish SAFE” that finances nothing” — he wrote.
Domański has already criticized the program proposed by Karol Nawrocki and the head of the NBP, Adam Glapiński. We wrote about it in Business Insider Polska.
In his speech, Karol Nawrocki proposed Polish SAFE 0%. as an alternative to the European program.
“This bill is already in the Sejm. It should be processed as quickly as possible. Recently, the National Bank of Poland has generated over PLN 185 billion for Poland, among others thanks to increasing gold reserves and making good investment decisions. This is huge capital. Capital that can work for Polish security. Thanks to this, we do not have to take out uncertain foreign loans” – said the president.

Presidential veto on SAFE. Government representatives comment
Other government representatives have already commented on the president's decision.
“The president lost the chance to behave like a patriot. On Friday at 9 a.m., the Polish government responded at an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers,” Donald Tusk wrote on the X website.
Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz also assessed the veto.
“The president's veto on SAFE is not against the government, it is against Poland's security; we will implement plan B,” wrote the head of the Ministry of National Defense.
