What GSP.ro will announce at the end of May it happened: Montenegrin Dragan Adzic, 56 years old, is the new coach of the CS Rapid women's handball team!
CS Rapid officially announced the installation of Dragan Adzic on the team bench. “One of the most titled and respected technicians in world handball takes over the technical bench of our senior team! We dream high and build with ambition, bringing a culture of performance and excellence to Giulești.
We are ready for a new era of rapid handball! Dragan, welcome to the most beloved team in Romania! Giulești is ready for the show!”, says the club's press release.
Dragan Adzic is the new coach at CS Rapid!
Adzic is from 2021 the selector of the Slovenian women's national team and had worked, until March, at the Hungarian team Mosonmagyarovar.
Rapid's women's handball team was left without a coach in April, when the separation from Frenchman Laurent Bezeau was made official. The last season was disappointing: 7th place in the Flower League and eliminations in the quarter-finals of the Romanian Cup and the EHF European League.

Adzic's CV is formidable: with the Montenegrin national team, which he coached between 2010 and 2017, he won silver at the Olympic Games in 2012, then gold at the European Championship.
As coach of Buducnost between 2010 and 2020, he won the Champions League twice, in 2012 and 2015, plus the national title in ALL those years at the helm of the team.
In 2021, Adzic took over the women's national team of Slovenia, and a year later he returned to activity at club level, on the bench of Krim, with whom he won both the title and the Slovenian Cup in his two years there.
Adzic's most recent tenure, in the 2025/2026 season, was with Hungarian team Mosonmagyarovar, which he parted ways with in March.
