In Krasnoyarsk, a modern physical center began operating on the basis of the Olympic Reserve College. The regional Ministry of Sports spoke about this.
The center became the first specialized space in the region that combines digital technologies and sports. It was created as part of the federal program for the development of the physical movement in Russia. There they equipped rooms for drone racing, created 20 gaming automated workstations for e-sports disciplines, car simulators, as well as areas for game consoles and a rhythm simulator.
The opening ceremony of the physical center was attended by Deputy Minister of Sports of Russia Alexey Morozov, Vice-President of the All-Russian Federation of Physical Sports Levon Bakunts, Minister of Sports of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Denis Petrovsky and Director of the Krasnoyarsk College of Olympic Reserve Sergey Venevtsev.
Alexey Morozov noted that the Krasnoyarsk physical center is one of the first opened this year in Russia.
“A great event for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the whole country. Much work has been done to introduce a new sport that combines digital technology and physical activity to develop new competencies among young people. The physical movement is still at the beginning of its journey, but is already actively gaining popularity in the world,” said Alexey Morozov.
Vice-President of the All-Russian Federation of Physical Sports Levon Bakunts added:
“The Krasnoyarsk center has become an anniversary center for us—the twentieth in Russia. The Krasnoyarsk region has always been famous for its sports traditions and champions. And it was here, in Krasnoyarsk, that one of the first “portals” to the future opened – that’s what we call these phygital centers.”
The Minister of Sports of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Denis Petrovsky thanked the federal ministry for the opportunity to open a new site in the regional center and called the event significant.
“In our region, physical sports are developing in the higher education system on the basis of Siberian Federal University. It’s great that now it will be promoted at the Olympic Reserve College, where a phygital club was created several years ago. The new center is the base that will contribute to the further development of this promising sports area in our region,” said Denis Petrovsky.
Immediately after the opening, the Krasnoyarsk Territory championship in physical sports in the discipline “combined – tactical shooting” started in the new center. 10 teams from various educational institutions in the region competed for victory in the three-day tournament.
