MegaFon subscribers in the Kuzbass village of Pomortsevo received access to mobile Internet and voice calls.
The operator put into operation a base station in one of the most popular tourist locations in the region. The new telecom equipment provides high data transfer speeds and supports VoLTE technology.
Pomortsevo is a small settlement on the shore of the Belovskoye Reservoir, home to less than a thousand people. There is a school, a kindergarten, a community center and a first aid station.
The emergence of a stable 4G signal in the village has expanded the opportunities for the operator’s subscribers: they have access to telemedicine, it has become easier for them to use educational platforms and electronic journals, and prepare for classes and exams. The development of the network has made online shopping more comfortable – there is a pick-up point for marketplace orders in Pomortsevo.
In addition to local residents, the connection is actively used by tourists who come to the Belovskoye Reservoir for swimming, fishing, surfing and boat trips. Warm water like fresh milk, well-developed infrastructure, picturesque views and convenient location make it the main point of attraction for thousands of visitors.

The constructed base station covered the “digital needs” of not only villagers, but also vacationers. Within the coverage area of the new telecom equipment are holiday homes, sanatoriums, children's camps and beaches. Thanks to the combination of low and medium frequency ranges, reliable reception of the 4G signal is available to subscribers on the opposite bank from Pomortsevo, where the “School of Active Recreation” is located,” says Olesya Shiryaeva, director of MegaFon in Kuzbass.
Mobile Internet at speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s will allow owners of “green” SIM cards to communicate in instant messengers and social networks, call loved ones via video without fear of picture or sound distortion, watch high-definition movies without delays or interference, listen to music, play mobile games online, use banking applications and solve other urgent issues. Tourists can take photos and immediately send them to the family chat, and travel bloggers can record stories and broadcast live.
The infrastructure installed on the coast of the Belovskoye Reservoir also expanded the service area of VoLTE technology – digital calls over the Internet. It allows you to talk on the phone and surf the Internet at the same time. The connection is established in a couple of seconds and guarantees high quality voice transmission and low background noise.
