In the city of Sharypovo, a court sentenced a man for illegal possession of weapons and ammunition.

Last December, police found that one of the residents of the village of Bolshoye Ozero, Sharypovsky Municipal District, illegally kept weapons, cartridges and gunpowder in his house. During the examination of the 57-year-old man, investigators found more than a kilogram of gunpowder in four metal cans, a double-barreled shotgun, a rifled firearm with an optical sight, 16 rounds of 16-gauge cartridges (5 of which were homemade), 59 rounds of 7.62×39 caliber.

The owner did not have permits for these items. The defendant explained that he took the weapons and ammunition from his grandmother’s house back in 2005, but decided not to formalize them.

Investigators initiated and investigated criminal cases under articles for illegal arms trafficking. An administrative protocol was also drawn up under the article for illegal actions with weapons.

Having considered the case materials, the Sharypovsky City Court found the man guilty and imposed a sentence of 3 years of suspended imprisonment, as well as a fine of 20 thousand rubles.
