The US talks about “barbaric escalation”, Russia responds

Moscow's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, replied that Russia does not attack civilian targets, but only reacts to the actions of the Ukrainian army. — Attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine were neither planned nor carried out. This retaliatory attack in the capital of Ukraine is a direct consequence of deliberate actions by Zelensky and his people aimed at fueling the conflict, he said.

Nebenzia added that the attack on Kiev was the result of the Russian authorities' “exhaustion of patience” in connection with Ukraine's attack on Starobielsk, which, according to the Russian side, resulted in the destruction of a student residence and the death of 21 people.

The Ukrainian army headquarters denies that the university was attacked, claiming that the attack was aimed at Russian military facilities – ammunition depots, air defense systems, command posts and the headquarters of the drone unit.
